GREEN LIGHT & RED LIGHT TIME

Red light time - clients not available

Red light time is when prospects are not available. This is the best time to deal with your paperwork and administrative things such as forecasting, planning, developing sales strategy, talking to internal people, etc. Red light time is generally;

Before 9:00 AM, at lunchtime, and after 5:00 PM

Weekends, holidays, etc.

Green light time - clients are available

Green light time is the time to spend calling prospective clients because they are available. Try to avoid being side-tracked by fellow workers or anybody else and focus on calling prospects during this time. Green light time is generally;

9:00 AM to 12:00, 2:30 to 5:00 PM

Maximizing Efficiency

Deal with clients & outside world during green light time.

Speak with the prospect!

Deal with everything else during red light time.

Admin, reports, expense claims, paperwork, etc.

Red Light Time Management

Always bring reading work when commuting such as trade magazines, articles, and other reading materials you never have time for.

Rate the priority of the tasks to complete the day before, or before 9:AM and be sure your task list is achievable for the day.

Plan solo work for red light times for things like forecasts, letters, sending information to prospective clients, E-mail etc.
